VisitWoods are currently running a photography competition to win £500 in High Street vouchers, a 3 night stay for 2 at DoubleTree by Hilton and other great prizes including 3 x £250 in vouchers, a Wildlife Whisperer nest box designed by Simon King, 4kg of premium bird food and a seed feeder from Garden Bird Supplies, 5 x £50 high street vouchers for highly commended runners-up and you can enter the VisitWoods Photography Competition as many times as you want to.

Between now and the 31st July all you have to do is visit a wood, take a picture, upload it to the VisitWoods website and you will be in with a chance of winning a prize. There are 4 main categories; forests and people, all creatures great and small, nature's playground and ancient woods and modern wonders.

This category celebrates our connection with forests. Because they’re our playgrounds, our inspiration - and they need our protection. WWF is working hard to protect forests across the globe from the many threats they face - from illegal logging to climate change. As well as being a home to wildlife, forests are vital to our planet’s health and fundamental to our well-being. Forests also provide food, shelter, fuel and a source of income to 1.6 billion people in poverty.

This category is all about the wildlife you find on your woodland trips from birds and bees to deer and dormice.
Bringing two great "tree brands" together in a community outreach effort, DoubleTree supports VisitWoods to develop a series of natural education initiatives that encourage and inspire people across the UK to connect with and appreciate the importance of woodlands and their wildlife. Ancient woodland is home to a wealth of wildlife and is the UK equivalent to rainforests. We’re looking for images of woods old or new demonstrating how they create our scenery and landscapes for all generations to enjoy.
