Spring into summer

As spring has now arrived and we dust off and clean our walking boots in preparation for a summer of gorious walking here is a round up of some of the best walks in the UK.

Epping Forest is always a clear favourite for people living in London and you can click here to find over 40 walks in Epping Forest.

If you prefer to go further a field then The Pennine Way, Britain's oldest and best-known National Trail, which is 50 years old this year, offers some spectacular walking. Click here for details.

For long distance walkers the John Muir Way in Scotland gives people the opportunity to walk coast to coast across. Since it's such a long walk (215 km), it's important to pack right and you can find a guide on what you need here.

If you love the coast but not the distance then you could try this beautiful walk in Felixstowe. This is a thoroughly enjoyable 4 mile walk from Felixstowe Beach to Landguard Fort and back through Landguard Nature Reserve. Click here for the full walking route.

For more walking ideas Field & Trek, the outdoor clothing and equipment company that specialises in camping, walking and skiing gear has included Walks And Walking in it's list of the Top 17 Walks In The UK.

And finally don't forget to look after your feet! Your feet are your most important tools when you're exploring the great outdoors. It's impossible to enjoy even the most beautiful and interesting walks if these parts of your body are injured and sore. This gives you a huge incentive to keep your feet in tiptop condition, and the following advice should help you to do precisely this.
